About Ag Ed 2018

The Symposium has evolved from the Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT)-funded AgLTAS project (2014-2016) that developed the national Learning and Teaching Academic Standards for Agriculture and the Good Practice Guide for the Agriculture Threshold Learning Outcomes.

Livestock

The Symposium will bring together the community of academics that contribute to the teaching of agriculture and related disciplines at Australian tertiary and VET institutions. It aims to:

  • Provide a forum for the discipline of agriculture to discuss good teaching practice and the challenges facing agricultural educators
  • Encourage the scholarship of learning and teaching for agricultural educators
  • Promote and sustain the implementation of the national Threshold Learning Outcomes for Agriculture
  • Support interactions between agricultural educators, students and industry.

Symposium Organising Committee

The symposium will be convened by Professor Amanda Able (The University of Adelaide)

The organising committee includes teaching innovators and leaders from across a number of Universities that teach Agriculture and/or related disciplines:
