Wine Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology Group
The Wine Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology Group, is jointly led by Professor Vladimir Jiranek and Associate Professor Paul Grbin. Our group undertakes research aimed at understanding wine associated microorganisms at a fundamental level as well as tackling aspects of wine quality, process efficiency and sustainability.
Our internationally recognised group, constitutes some 25 researchers (Postdoctoral fellows, PhD, MSc and Honours students) and is housed in the Wine Innovation Central Building at the Waite Campus. We are a diverse and collaborative group with both past and present members from all over the world.
